KARACHI: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has expressed reservations over establishment of military courts, saying that party’s legal team was working on it, Geo News reported.
Talking to party leaders in a meeting of PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office-bearers at Bilawal House, Asif Ali Zardari said his party has reservations over the military courts. He said only terrorism related cases be proceeded in these courts and other cases should be avoided.
The former president said PPP team, comprises Senator Aitzaz Ahsan and Senator Raza Rabbani, is reviewing the formation of military courts matter and after it he would apprise the Prime Minister of his stance.
Former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, Sherry Rehman, Faryal Talpur and Senator Rehman Malik also attended the meeting.
