Also directs completion of party organizations up to union council level
Islamabad January 14, 2015: Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party former President Asif Ali Zardari has directed provincial president PPP Punjab Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo to make full use of the planned conventions in all districts of the province to mobilize the party.
I ask the provincial President to maintain close liaison with the party workers in every nook and corner of the province and use the occasion of district wise conventions to explain to the workers party policies, listen to their views and address their grievances, the PPP co Chair said in a directive to Mian Manzoor Wattoo today.
Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the former President was keen to revitalize the Party at the grass root level throughout the country and the holding of conventions at district levels was the first step in this direction. Later district level conventions will also be held in other provinces.
The former President said that holding of conventions at district level was a consensus demand of the workers that emerged on the eve of the Party’s founding day convention held in Lahore recently and called for its full implementation in letter and spirit.
“I also call upon the workers to participate in these district level conventions and, in keeping with the traditions of the Party, express your views candidly on all issues be that of local or national importance or about organizational matters”, the former President said.
Mr. Asif Ali Zardari said that he was confident that both the Party’s provincial organization and the workers will make use of the opportunity afforded by district wise conventions for a robust and lively debate on issues of concern to the party, the people and the nation.
The former President also directed Mian Manzoor Watto to complete all Party organizations up to the level of union council. “Completion of Party organizations up to the level of union council is also of utmost importance and must be undertaken at the earliest”, he said in his directive to the provincial president.
The former President also asked for submission of reports of the conventions to him periodically.
