2 pc to 50 pc job quota allocated for Kashmiris: Mian Manzoor #Watto

ISLAMABAD, Feb 4(APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and GB and President Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab Mian Manzoor Ahmad Watto said that the quota for Kashmiri people in jobs has been raised from 2% to 50% and the rest of the quota is allocated for Pakistanis with the approval of Prime Minister. Addressing a press conference at PID here Monday, the Minister said that Pakistan People’s Party is committed with Kashmir cause and in line with the vision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto initiated to give OIC representation to Kashhmiri leadership. He said that President Asif Ali Zardai has taken up this issue at UN and hold bilateral talks with the neighboring country to bring a just solution of this matter in accordance with the aspiration of the people of Kashmir. Mian Manzoor Watto told the media persons that one minute silence will be observed by 10 am tomorrow across the country in commemoration of Kashmir Solidarity Day to peacefully condemn the open violation of human rights in occupied Valley and human chain will be observed on Kohala Bridge, Azad Patan and Mangla as well. Manzoor Watto briefed the media regarding the special programs and events organized by the Ministry of AJK&GB that it has conducted five meetings regarding celebrations on Kashmir Day and invited Ministry for Information, Culture and Interior to discuss the arrangements. The Minister urged at the occasion that peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people was imperative for the peace and development of the region He further told that AJK Assembly and Legislative Council Session will be held tomorrow and aciting President AJK will read out message of PM Pakistan during the session. “Special solidarity Day messages will be given by the PM AND President of Pakistan tomorrow”, he added. Kashmir Convention, he said will be called at PM Secretariat Islamabad tomorrow on 5th Feb. He said that PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf would host dinner in the honor of guests comprising ex-President and Ministers of AJK and delegation of All Pakistan Hurriat Conference will be participated at the occasion. He said PNCA will host various cultural programs on Kashmior Day and Kasmir Mela will be held at Lok Virsa. Kashmir Cultural Academy, AJK shall also organize cultural events. Briefing for all foreign Missions in Islamabad is called upon the advice of Foreign Office. He added. Watto told that ration packages have been dispatched to Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bagh, Mirpur, Hajeera by the Ministry. He said that media role is very important to highlight the ongoing activities and programs on the Kashmir Freedom Day and to run a media campaign at national and international platform to make a public opinion for Kashmir cause and to create awareness while informing whole world to boost up efforts to hold free plebiscite resolution which is the basic right of People of Kashmir. To respond to a question The Minister strongly rejected the notion of using the Kashmir Council funds on elections. PM AJK Abdul Majeed and other officials also accompanied him during the Press Conference.
