Main Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President PPP Central Punjab, has conveyed his appreciations to the office bearers and the workers of the PPP for their enthusiastic participation in the functions held in connection with the Kashmir Day yesterday to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir who have been living under the yoke of Indian occupation since 1947.
He said this while speaking to the office bearers of the PPP who called on him in the Party Secretariat, Model Town, and apprised him of the efforts of Party put in by rank and file to observe the Day in befitting manners.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that all the PPP workers and its leadership were totally committed to the cause of the Kashmiri people considering it as the cherished legacy of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto who spearheaded the campaign to internationalize the issue.
He added that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also expressed his total commitment to the inalienable rights of the Kashmiri people when he said, ‘marsoon marsoon Kashmir na desoon’. It was in total harmony with the ideology of the PPP and its founding father, he observed.
He said that the Co- Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had always advocated the cause of the Kashmiri people at all national and international forums for holding plebiscite so that the Kashmiri people could determine their political future according to their aspirations.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo reiterated that elections in the Valley could not be the substitute of independence and the imposition of Governor Raj in occupied Kashmir amply manifested their rejection of the Indian government designs.
He also castigated the Indian government for reported plans to change the demographic of the Valley by encouraging the settlement of the people brought in from other part of the country by offering them lucrative incentives. He observed that such mischief of the Indian government was bound to meet failure like in the past.
He called upon the Indian government to end its imperialistic nefarious designs as it had no future in the 21st century and therefore hold plebiscite in the Valley and prove its credentials as the biggest democracy of the world. It denial of the legitimate rights to the Kashmiri people will continue to haunt it down in the eyes of the international community, he added.
Those who were present in the meeting included Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Sohail Malik, Nawab Sheer Vaseer, Jehanzeb Burki, Roy Shah Jehan Bhatti, Abid Siddique, Usman Malik etc.
