Lahore—Pakistan Peoples Party Punjab has demanded the election commission of Pakistan to verify thumb impressions of voters of 25 percent of all polling stations in Punjab from NADRA.
Briefing the media after presiding over a meeting of provincial party executives at party office here on Saturday, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo alleged an organised rigging had been carried out to defeat the PPP in elections.
He said number of votes for the PML-N showed that ‘angels’ had cast their votes in favour of the PML-N, however, he added the PPP would play its role as opposition in the centre and it would form government in Sindh.
He said the suggestions by the party leaders in the meeting would be presented to the main leadership of the party.
A resolution was passed in the meeting for reversal of resignation of PPP president Mian Manzoor Wattoo. PPP Punjab leaders including General Secretary Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, Muneer A Khan, Raja Riaz Ahmad, Mehr Ghulam Freed, Aurang Zeb Barki and others participated in the meeting.
