Sardar Inam-ul- Haq Dogar Ex- Nazim and Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed Gujjar, Shaikhupurs, Ex- MPA joined Pakistan Peoples Party along with their many supporters of their bradari here in Lahore after meeting with Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President Punjab PPP at the Party Secretariat.
While addressing the press conference on the occasion, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that if four constituencies of Lahore were proved as mired with manipulation then the whole electoral process of May 2013 might become controversial.
He criticized the Metro Expressway Train project of Lahore adding that with this amount the roads of the entire province could be carpeted and considerable improvement of farm to market roads which were almost non-existent and disappeared in most of the cases.
He castigated the development strategy of the Punjab government that had been spending all resources of the province on the development of two roads of Lahore at the expense of rest of Lahore and the province. If this continued the people will stand up and would be constrained to take law into their hands.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo maintained that it was the constitutional duty of the Punjab Government to provide education, health, food security and building of infra structure but it had miserably failed in this account because huge funds hag been diverted to the mega projects of Lahore.
He said that the hospitals of the province were in pathetic conditions because the medicines were not available and hugely highly understaffed and the apathy of the government was limitless as no corrective measure was being taken.
He recalled that the PPP previous government used to allocate development funds to all the parliamentarians indiscriminately but this government was not giving any development funds to the parliamentarians who were in opposition Benches .
He condemned the incident of PML(N) MPA slapping the fellow parliamentarian today and demanded that the Speaker of the Assembly should take strict action so that no such incident occur in future. People expect Parliamentarians to be role model in decency, tolerance and knowledge.
He paid rich tributes to the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari whose sagacity, maturity and deep political understanding enabled the government to complete the constitutional terms by any democratic government in Pakistan.
While responding to a question, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said, the exoneration of the Asif Ali Zardari today clearly established that the cases were totally politically motivated.
He expressed his confidence that he would be exonerated in other cases as well because the other accused had already been honorably acquitted.
The PPP leadership deserves tributes as there was no political prisoner during its five years of previous democratic government, he maintained.
