Main Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President Punjab PPP, has demanded judicial probe into the fresh allegations leveled by PTI Chief yesterday of ongoing re-tampering of various constituencies results by a team in an Information Technology University.
This he said while talking to the PPP prominent leader in USA, Chaudhry Ejaz and PPP workers in New York where Misbah-ur- Rehamn, a PPP leader of Lahore, was also present.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the government should have readily accepted the demand of the PTI regarding the verification of voters of the four constituencies of Lahore adding their foot dragging had created much political tension in the country when it was fighting the war of survival.
He expressed his disapproval over the delaying tactics of the PML(N) regarding the voters verification on the one pretext or another thus giving credence to the impression that they had some skeletons in their cupboards which they were hiding.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo supported the former President, Asef Ali Zardari’s statement as compatible to the aspirations of the people of Pakistan in which the Co- Chairman had demanded the incumbent Prime Minister to conduct himself like an elected Prime Minister of Pakistan and not like the monarch who acted on his whims with no regard to the problems of the people.
He regretted that the mandarins had learnt no lesson from the history and their personal style of governance confined within the family clan was grossly incongruous to the democratic ethos because collective wisdom was its essence.
He described the PML(N) government rule as anti-people adding that the PPP being the Party of the poor masses could not afford to align itself with those who were pursuing policies against the masses. They must mend their ways and focus on providing relief to the people, sooner than later.
He said that the load shedding of electricity cobbled with flying food inflation, worsening law and order situation, poverty and lack of health and education facilities, had made the lives of the people miserable.
Punjab Chief Minister in particular was showcasing his performance through aggressive advertisements campaigns on tax payers’ money but the ground realities were quite opposite, he observed. Shahbaz Sharif’s personal and unsubstantiated self-projection is being taken as insult to their injury, he opined.
He reiterated that for PPP democracy was non- negotiable because it stood for people’s politics and any entity that distanced itself from serving the people would not find PPP as its supporter and would lose its sympathy eventually.
