
The passing away of the Chief of Nawa-i- Waqat Group of Papers and veteran journalist Majid Nizami is an irreparable national loss, said Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo in his condolence message to Ramazee Nizami, daughter of the deceased. He was a national asset and a symbol formidable support for the cause of the people of Pakistan in general and for the Kashmiri people in particular, he added.
He paid rich tributes to departed soul who always spoke truth in the face of successive tyrannical rules in the country without fear or favour. He is known as the greatest upholder of “speaking the truth in the face of tyrannical rulers is the best form of Jihad’.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo recalled his acquaintance with late Majid Nizami as a great experience who would speak out on delicate issues with confidence and clarity with objectivity overtones.
He said that late Majid Nizami played a leading role in mobilizing the Muslim students under the banner of Muslim Students Federation that gave the requisite impetus to the Pakistan Movement. Quad-i- Azam appreciated the role of the MSF on a number of times.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that it would not be bit of an exaggeration if he was described as the father of the freedom of Press Movement in the country and was lucky to see the same during his life time. He services for the freedom of the press will be remembered in golden words in the history of Pakistani journalism, he added,
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo maintained that he proved worthy of being the true follower of the Quaid-i- Azam because throughout his life he upheld the ideals of the Quaid like his unequivocal commitment to democracy, constitutional rule , freedom of expression and above all struggle for the inalienable rights of the Kashmiri people .
He prayed that Almighty Allha may blessed the departed soul with eternal peace and grant the fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
