President Punjab PPP, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has rejected the decision of the government to arrest Pakistan Awami Tehrik leader Dr. Tahir-ul- Qadri adding that it would make the law and order situation much worse in the province of Punjab in general and in Lahore in particular.
He called upon the government to reverse the decision immediately and control the situation through political methodology instead of resorting to use the coercive methods.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo observed that to halt the PAT workers to observe the martyrs’ day was a short sighted policy filled with dangers of retaliation right across the province.
He said that policy of confronting the political opponents would not bode well for the political system for which the entire political leadership of the country was struggling to save it from being derailed.
He said that the former President Asef Ali Zardari emphatically rejected the reported witch hunting of the PAT Chief adding that such course of action was analogous to shooting the foot with one’s own gun.
