Govt constitutes Interfaith Council to create religious tolerance, harmony: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (APP): Interior Minister Rehman Malik Wednesday announced to constitute a seven member Interfaith Council to create religious tolerance and harmony among different sects and to ensue durable peace in the country.
Talking to media after meeting a delegation of Ulema belonging to different schools of thoughts, he said the Interfaith Council has already been constituted in the federal capital while such councils would be constituted soon in the provinces soon.
The councils will have the representation of Ulema from all schools of thought while chairman would also be selected from them. Rehman Malik condemned killing of innocent people at Babu Ser near Gilgit and said such people have no religion. He said there is no clash between Shia and Sunni while third force is involved in the pitting different sects against each other in order to destabilize and weaken the country.
