It is highly inappropriate to involve the army in the internal polices adding the move poorly reflected on the politicians who initiated it , said Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo in a statement issued her today.
He said that the heads of politicians in general and of warring parties in particular should hang in shame for their failure to get the country out of the self-created political turmoil that had brought the morale of the nation to the knees. It reflects very poorly on the agitating politicians and the lack of this realization is more disturbing, he added.
He appreciated the sincere efforts of the PPP and Jamait-i- Islami leadership focused to break the deadlock but the instrsigence of the conflicting parties had scuttle their endeavors to the dismay of all of the people right across the poor country..
He said that the reported invitation to the army to play the role mediator reflected the immaturity of those who waded to do so.
He added that the army had been fighting the war of survival of the country and engaging the institution in the internal politics would divert its attention adversely affecting the war against terrorism to our utter disadvantage.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the army was deeply engaged against terrorists in FATA, Quetta, and Karachi and indeed in the whole country and rendering sacrifices so that the nation could lead their way of life according to their aspirations.
He urged the agitating parties to get out of their cocoon and care for the comforts and welfare of the people and let them off the hook of the siege. The result of their obstinacy is now earning the ire of the civil society at an accelerated pace, he observed.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo strongly called upon the government, PTI and PAT leadership to seek out common ground urgently and get the nation out of the torture that had made their lives miserable due to the hanging of pall of uncertainty all over the country.
He said that fair-minded people fail to understand as why these leaders were hell bound to inflicting sufferings on the poor people instead of providing them comforts by not doing thugs which were source of torture for them. People’s patience is running thin and it could spillover in the form of revenge, he cautioned.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said that the skewed up mid-set of the warring parties had caused huge losses to the economy, rupees value had depreciated and the trend was continuing, international financial institutions were not dealing us with respect. Above all, the image of the country has taken nosedive due to the Tamasha in Islamabad being played by the parties for the last many days. It must come to an end now as enough is enough, he asserted.
