Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Secretary General PPP, has taken strong exception to the use of unparliamentarily language against the Party Leaders and the Co-Chairman Asef Ali Zardari by Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-i- Insaf the other day and sought his apology for his unbecoming behaviour.
He said that the PPP was committed to the cause of democracy, constitution and rule of law as its commitment was rooted in its history of struggle for the democracy and the empowerment of the people as the final arbiter.
He pointed out that the PPP unequivocal commitment for democracy did not mean that the Party supported the wrong policies of the incumbent government.
He recalled that the PPP accepted the results of the May 2013 elections only for the sake of the continuity of democracy despite its serious reservations on the electoral process.
He maintained that the Party condemned the used of brute police force by the Punjab government in the Lahore Model Town tragedy and demanded that the culprits should be brought to justice sooner than later.
Tanvir Ashraf Kaira made it clear that constitution, democracy and the rule of law were non- negotiable for the Party and its leadership.
