Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Secretary General PPP Punjab, has urged the government to constitute Judicial Commission of the Supreme Court mandated to investigate the allegations of rigging in elections held 2013 adding procrastination in this regard by the Government will be deemed as the it has skeletons in its cupboard.
He said this in a statement issued from here today adding the Jirga has also underscored the urgency of setting up such Commission of the Supreme Court to save the country’s politics from taking an ugly turn.
He expressed his apprehensions that the present trend of confrontational politics would only make happy to the anti-democratic forces that had been hatching the conspiracies to derail the political system in the country.
He urged the leadership of the PTI and the PML (N) to desist from leveling baseless allegations against each other because such petty politics would reflect poorly on them and their Party leadership alike.
The leadership of the both parties should strive their for seeking out common ground to settle their differences leading to get the country out of the political quagmire that would suffocate all of them if they continued to push each other against the wall.
He said that the PPP was totally committed to the cause of democracy and the constitution and would be standing with the political forces those share its commitment.
He argued that there was no way out except to practice the politics of reconciliation, tolerance and understanding as all other strategic and tactical moves would lead them to mutual annihilation. Time is running out and they must not miss the opportunity to regret later, he observed.
