Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said in a statement issued from here today that Co- Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari is arriving Pakistan to preside over the ceremony of martyrdom day of Shaheed Benazir Bhuttoo at Ghari Khuda Bux on December 27. Total solidarity will be expressed with martyrs of Peshawar tragedy and the families of the victims in the collective dua followed by candlelight vigil.
He said that the martyrdom day of Mohtrama had been declared by the Party leadership as a day to express solidarity with the victims of the Peshawar tragedy and their families.
He said that a function would be held in the PPP Punjab Secretariat in Model Town, Lahore in which a large number of local leaders, office bearers and workers would participate to pay tributes to their beloved leader and also pray for the eternal peace for departed souls of Peshawar tragedy. It will be followed by candlelight vigil.
He vehemently refuted the news published in a section of press regarding the cancellation of observance of martyrdom day. The news is baseless, fabricated and misleading, he asserted.
He added that functions will be held at all detract levels and the site of martyrdom of Mohtrama in Rawalpindi, Liaqat Bagh, where local and national leadership would be there to pay tributes to their leader and deep sympathies to the families of victims. Similarly, such functions will be held in other provinces as well. .
He stated that the workers would reiterate their resolve to exterminate terrorists, extremism and their apologists from the country those wanted to impose their redundant ideology at the gun point.
He pointed out that the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto had been consistent in taking the terrorists head on because they were neither Muslims nor human beings and therefore must be defeated with the full force of the state.
